Occupational Therapy

Hello, my name is Melissa and I am an Occupational Therapist.

The role of the Occupational Therapist (OT) is to work with people who have difficulties with the practical skills they need to succeed in everyday life.

Working together with the school, we aim to support students to be as independent as possible in self-care, school work and play.

- We look at the skills a student needs to do every day activities.

- We look at the environment around them and see if there are ways we can modify it to help them do their functional tasks.

- We work to enable teachers and parents, the people who know the students best, so they can support the young person to achieve their full potential in everyday life.

The Occupational Therapy for students at Michael Tippett School is provided by Evelina London Children's Community Healthcare (part of Guys and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust). Please see the link below for more information:

This is an overview of what we do.

The Occupational Therapist is generally in school every Tuesday.  If you would like to contact them please speak to Haddy@tmts.lambeth.sch.uk
