Occupational Therapy

Hi my name is Katie and I am the Occupational Therapist at The Michael Tippet School. The role of the Occupational Therapist (OT) is to work with people who have difficulties with the practical skills they need to succeed in everyday life.

An OT will aim to enable a child to be as independent as possible in self-care, school work and play.

An OT can provide specialist assessments to identify the underlying difficulties impacting on the young person's function (for example motor, sensory or perceptual skills). We provide therapy intervention and recommend appropriate strategies to help overcome these difficulties.

We work with parents and people who know the young person best in order for them to be supported to achieve their potential at home, school and during everyday activities.

This is an overview of what we do.

The Occupational Therapist is generally in school every Tuesday.  If you would like to contact them please speak to
